Lying on my back in Fort Greene Park at 3 AM. My hands are going numb and I can see my breath but I've also seen 5 meteors.

Left my wallet at home but I brought my ID and a hunting knife, just in case. I think I stepped in a dead rat walking back.

P wanted to see me before she went to Boston for the funeral. I kissed her again at the gate to her apartment, next to the junkyard while a cop in a passing squadcar watched. Took the sidestreet home and made it back in one piece before 4 AM.

Dumb luck is still a small victory.
