Sound guy (important to note: not a dumb soundguy) says it was the best song of the night. Tumblr posts calling me by name, getting incorporated into fan-mail. People talking to me about a picture of me posted earlier in the day. "You're Mike, right?" at the merch stand before showtime. Getting recognized on the street at load-in, without Julia standing next to me.

I'm not coming home to her. No vacation retreat. That's how this tour is different.
